Crowley selects scholarship winner
Jacksonville-based Crowley Maritime Corp. has named Iris Lowery, a student in the maritime studies program at Williams College and Mystic Seaport in Connecticut as the recipient of its 2007 Thomas B. Crowley, Sr. Memorial Scholarship.
Lowery, from Washington, was selected through criteria that included academic success, financial need, and her interest in maritime trades and studies.
Tom Crowley Jr., Crowley Maritime chairman, president and chief executive officer, has awarded scholarships over the years to students at U.S. maritime academies in the name of his father, Thomas B. Crowley Sr., who passed away in 1994.
