CSAV, Evergreen swap Asia/Med/Black Sea slots

CSAV, Evergreen swap Asia/Med/Black Sea slots    CSAV Norasia and Evergreen Line have agreed on a slot exchange that gives CSAV access to the western Mediterranean and Evergreen capacity on a CSAV Asia/Black Sea service.
   The agreement will see Evergreen take slots on CSAV's Asia Black Sea service (ABS) and in return, CSAV will take slots on Evergreen's Far East-Mediterranean service (FEM).
   The ABS, which CSAV operates on its own with nine 4,784-TEU vessels on average, has a rotation, according to ComPair Data, of Tianjin, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Chiwan, Port Klang, Jeddah, Piraeus, Istanbul, Constanta, Ilyichevsk, Odessa, Port Klang and Tianjin.
   The FEM service, which Evergreen operates alone with nine 5,620-TEU vessels, has a rotation of Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Yantian, Tanjung Pelapas, Colombo, Ashdod, Alexandria, Taranto, Genoa, Barcelona, Valencia, Taranto, Colombo, Tanjung Pelapas, Kaoshiung and Qingdao.
   For Evergreen, CSAV's service gives the Taiwan-based line access to three Black Sea ports to which it doesn't provide service. Similarly, CSAV has neither access from Asia to any West Med ports, nor to Barcelona, Valencia nor Taranto. Evergreen's service calls at all three plus the West Med port of Genoa, according to ComPair Data.
   The slot exchange begins Nov. 9. No details were released about how many TEUs would be exchanged.
