CSAV increases Asia/Med capacity

   CSAV Norasia is increasing capacity on its Mare Nostrum Service Asia/Mediterranean service, American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data said.

   The carrier, a subsidiary of Chile-based CSAV, will change out seven of the 10 vessels operating on the service through November. The seven vessels to be added average 6,550 TEUs, replacing the existing vessels averaging 5,050 TEUs.

   ComPair Data said overall average vessel capacity of the service will increase 19 percent when the changes are complete, from 5,538 TEUs to 6,565 TEUs. Length and rotation of the service will remain the same. The Mare Nostrum rotation is Xingang, Qingdao, Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Port Klang, Malta, La Spezia, Genoa, Marseilles, Barcelona, Valencia, Malta, Jeddah, Port Klang, Hong Kong and Xingang.
