CSAV joins MSC Asia/Africa loop

CSAV joins MSC Asia/Africa loop    Liner carrier CSAV has joined a Mediterranean Shipping Co. loop between Asia and southern Africa, part of a wide-ranging network agreement the two lines announced in mid-July.
   CSAV will join as a slot buyer on MSC’s six-ship Cheetah service, which has a rotation of Fuqing, Xiamen, Kaohsiung, Hong Kong, Chiwan, Singapore, Port Louis, Durban, Port Elizabeth, Port Louis, Singapore and Fuqing. The Chilean line calls the service AZAS.
   The service operates with six MSC ships with an average capacity of 6,175 TEUs, including one 8,000-TEU ship, according to American Shipper affiliate ComPair Data. CMA CGM also takes slots on the service, which it calls Shaka Express.
