CSAV Norasia adds new, revised services       CSAV Norasia is starting a new “Indus” service between China and the Indian Subcontinent and revising its “Super Galex” service between China and the Middle East to offer faster service to customers.
      The company, a subsidiary of Chile’s CSAV, said both the new Indus service and the revised Super Galex will start Aug. 12.
      The Indus service will employ five ships with 2,500 to 3,000-TEU capacities and offer weekly service with a rotation of 35 days. The rotation is Shanghai, Ningbo and Chiwan in China; Port Kelang, Malaysia; Colombo, Sri Lanka; Nhava Sheva, India; Karachi, Pakistan; Mundra, India; Colombo; Port Kelang; and Shanghai.
      CMA CGM is a partner in the Indus service and will operate one of the five ships.
      With the new Indian Subcontinent service, the six ships in the Super Galex will discontinue calls to the subcontinent to provide better transit time from China to the Middle East, and add a direct call to Banda Abbas in Iran. The size of the ships will be expanded from today’s average of 4,336 TEUs to about 6,500 TEUs.
      The six ships will continue to offer weekly service in the following 42-day rotation: Shanghai, Xingang, Qingdao, Ningbo, Chiwan, Port Kelang, Jebel Ali in the United Arab Emirates, Dammam in Saudi Arabia, and Bandar Abbas.
      Laurel Navigation Line is a partner in the Super Galex and will operate one ship.
