CSAV Norasia leaves Asia Med Pacific service of Zim, CSCL

CSAV Norasia leaves Asia Med Pacific service of Zim, CSCL    Hong Kong-based CSAV Norasia, a wholly owned subsidiary of Chile's CSAV Group, today confirmed to American Shipper that it’s no longer involved on the Asia Med Pacific (AMP) service of Zim and China Shipping Container Lines.
      CSAV Norasia’s participation on the AMP ended with the eastbound voyage of the vessel Zim Japan when it called at Shanghai on July 8.
   The AMP service now uses 13 ships — 12 from Zim, one from China Shipping — averaging about 3,340 TEUs on a rotation of Piraeus; Istanbul; Constanta; Haifa; Colombo; Singapore; Shekou; Hong Kong; Shanghai; Busan; Vancouver, British Columbia; Portland, Ore.; Busan; Shanghai; Xiamen; Hong Kong; Shekou; Singapore; Haifa; and back to Piraeus.
   The service will from early September drop calls at Portland. Zim will then provide a mini-landbridge service via Vancouver to the U.S. Midwest and Eastern Canada.
