CSAV receives new vessel

Chilean liner carrier CSAV said Friday it has taken delivery of a new 6,600-TEU ship designed to be more fuel and power efficient.

The carrier said the ship, the Maule, is designed to emit reduced levels of exhaust and use less power at maximum engine power. The ship was built by CSBC Corp. in Kaohsiung.

The ship will be deployed on the carrier's Mare Nostrum service, connecting the Far East and Mediterranean.
