CSCL pays premium for early delivery of 5,688-TEU ship
China Shipping Container Lines said it has given the Chinese shipyard Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding 1 million yuan (about $121,000) as a premium for delivering a new 5,688TEU containership six months early.
The “Xin Fuzhou” was scheduled to be delivered March 31, 2005 under the shipbuilding contract.
“But under the efforts of Hudong-Zhonghua Shipbuilding (Group) Co. Ltd., ‘Xin Fuzhou’ was delivered half a year ahead of time,” China Shipping said.
The Chinese carrier has phased the new ship into its “AAS” Asia/U.S. West Coast service.
