CSCMP names three to Supply Chain Hall of Fame

The Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals will honor J.B. Hunt, Henry Ford and Malcom McLean for their pioneering leadership in the supply chain arena.

   Logistics and freight transportation luminaries Johnnie Bryant (J.B.) Hunt, Henry Ford and Malcom McLean represent the inaugural class to the Supply Chain Hall of Fame, which was recently created by the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP) to honor those who have revolutionized the industry.
   Hunt was the founder of J.B. Hunt Transport Services, a Fortune 500 leader in the trucking and intermodal transportation sectors. It was one of the first motor carriers to move truckloads by rail. Ford founded the Ford Motor Company and McLean developed the modern ocean shipping container, which transformed how freight is moved and helped spur the explosion of international trade in recent decades. They were selected because of the innovations they brought to logistics.    The three supply chain leaders will officially be inducted into the Hall of Fame during CSCMP’s annual conference in Orlando, Sept. 25-28.
