CSX FORMS CORPORATION FOR TRANSLOADING

   CSX Corp. has formed Transflo Corp., a business unit that will provide transloading, materials management and distribution services in North America.

'    Transflo, based in Jacksonville, will operate a network of more than 160 locations including 72 terminals operated by a subsidiary, Bulk Intermodal Distribution Services Inc.

   The new company's services include transloading products from one mode of transportation to another — primarily from rail to truck — for local delivery to non-rail customers. Transflo will also handle transloading between rail and international containers.

   Kyle Hancock has been named managing director of Transflo. A 15-year veteran of CSX, he comes from CSX Transportation, where he was most recently assistance vice president-minerals sales and marketing. Prior to that he was commercial operations director for the CSX joint venture NDX Intermodal, based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

   In addition, Glen Soliah, managing director of CSXT's Bulk Intermodal Distribution Services, has been named vice president and chief operating officer of Transflo. Prior to joining CSX he held financial positions with The Hamilton Group and Johnson & Johnson, where he was involved in the start-up of the Vistakon subsidiary.

   Chris Swartz has been named vice president and chief commercial officer. He was general manager-eastern region of CSX Lines. Prior to that, he developed logistics solutions for Buyers and Shippers Enterprises, a logistics subsidiary of Sea-Land Service.

   John Scheeter continues to lead Bulk Intermodal Distribution Services, which focuses on terminal operations and new terminal development.
