CSX official takes White House position

Railroad lobbyist Michael Smythers Jr., assistant vice president for legislative and regulatory affairs for CSX Corp., has resigned effective Feb. 6 to join the White House’s Office of Legislative Affairs, where he will work with the Senate to push the president’s agenda.
