CSX WORLD TERMINALS OPENS LOGISTICS CENTER IN SHENZHEN

   CSX World Terminals has opened a 10,800-square-meter logistics center in Shenzhen, China, through its subsidiary ATL Logistics Centre Hong Kong Ltd.

   The new venture, ATL Logistics Centre Yantian Ltd., can accommodate about 11,500 cubic meters of cargo daily.

   ATL Logistics Centre Yantian Ltd., in cooperation with Shenzhen Qi Yang Industrial Development Co. Ltd., operates the customs-approved export warehouse for export cargo consolidation, with dedicated inspectors from the Customs Bureau stationed within the facility.

   Located at District No. 16 of Yantian Port Base in Shenzhen, ATL Logistics Centre Yantian is easily accessed by trucks and container tractors to and from Yantian container terminals, railway station and the Yantian Free Trade Zone, CSX World Terminals said. It is also well connected to other parts of Shenzhen, other cities and districts within the Guangdong province, as well as Hong Kong.

   The logistics facility will use a logistics management system from J. D. Edwards which includes inventory, warehouse and transportation management.

   ATL Logistics Centre Yantian is operated and controlled by ATL Logistics Centre Hong Kong, which has operated the largest logistics center in Hong Kong since 1986.

   CSX World Terminals, based in Charlotte, N.C., is a subsidiary of CSX Corp.
