CSX World Terminals, port of Jacksonville reach terminal agreement
CSX World Terminals LLC and Jacksonville Port Authority said Tuesday they have entered into an agreement for CSXWT to market and operate 35 acres of Jacksonville's Blount Island Marine Terminal.
CSXWT, based in Charlotte, N.C., will provide third-party container terminal services for the Jacksonville port facility.
The Blount Island facility will be CSXWT's first U.S. terminal operation since the company was formed following the sale by parent CSX Corp. of its international assets of Sea-Land Service in 1999. CSXWT operates terminals in Asia, Australia, Europe and Latin America.
