CTSA lines raise currency surcharge again    Member lines of the Canada Transpacific Stabilization Agreement said Thursday they will hike their currency adjustment surcharge to 7 percent, effective Dec. 1.
   The surcharge is currently at 5 percent, but is set to rise to 6 percent in November. Japan's currency, in particular, has strengthened in recent months to a near record high against the dollar. CTSA lines provide service between Asia and Canada.
   CTSA updates its currency surcharge levels on a monthly basis, typically one month ahead of when the rate will go into effect.
   CTSA member lines are APL, COSCO Container Lines, Evergreen, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, 'K' Line, NYK Line, OOCL, Yang Ming and Zim Integrated Shipping Services.
