Reports said the domestic Cuban energy production will be enough to supply 47 percent of the country's fuel needs. The rest of its fuel is supplied at discounted prices by Venezuela.
Cuban energy officials said production could increase in the future, if preliminary plans to explore deeper offshore oil within Cuban waters are ultimately successful.
