Customs names new operations chief for Miami

Customs names new operations chief for Miami Customs and Border Protection has named Thomas Winkowski, who has been the head of field operations in Miami to assistant commissioner, office and field operations in Washington, D.C. He will be replaced in Miami by William Heffelfinger III.
   The news was reported in Florida in the form of a notice from CBP Commissioner Ralph Basham that was being circulated by the law firm Sandler, Travis & Rosenberg and in an announcement from the Florida Customs Brokers and Forwarders Association.
   For the last four years, Heffelfinger has been the deputy assistant commissioner.
   A statement from Basham said 'I would like to personally thank Mr. Heffelfinger for his unwavering dedication and support over the past four years as the deputy assistant commissioner.    His commitment, selfless service and contributions are commendable.    Mr. Heffelfinger’s various leadership positions within the Departments of Homeland Security and Treasury have greatly prepared him to lead the Miami Field Office.'
