Dachser expands in Luxembourg

Dachser expands in Luxembourg    Third-party logistics firm Dachser has opened a new branch in Luxembourg, reinforcing its market presence in the Benelux countries.
   Operating under the name Dachser S.a.r.l. Luxembourg, the operation based in Grevenmacher is directly connected to the Eurohub in 'berherrn, Saarland-Germany.
   'This enables us to offer all European facilities regular connections with standardized shipment times, even if they don't run direct services to Luxembourg,' said Michael Schilling, Dachser's managing director for European network management and logistics systems, in a statement.
   The 3,400-square-meter Grevenmacher branch is located between Trier (Germany) and Luxembourg City. Initially, Dachser will employ a staff of 25 in Grevenmacher. Torsten Baasner, responsible for forwarding management at the 'berherrn facility since 2006, will be manager of the new branch.
   In addition to Luxembourg, Dachser has another nine branches, five in the Netherlands and four in Belgium.
