Dalian terminal opens 3rd berth

Dalian terminal opens 3rd berth    Dalian Port Container Terminal Co. Ltd., a joint venture between PSA China, COSCO Pacific, APM Terminals and the Dalian Port Group, has started operations at its third container berth at the Dalian Dayaowan Phase II project in North China.
   Berth No. 13 has a quay length of 364 meters (1,194 feet) with an alongside draft of 16 meters (52.5 feet). It is equipped with 65-ton quayside cranes and is capable of handling containerships of up to 10,000-TEUs.
   By the end of this month another berth adjacent to berth 13 will be commissioned, increasing Dalian Port Container Terminal’s handling capacity to 1.7 million TEUs.
   When it is fully developed in 2009, the terminal will have six berths with a total quay length of 2,097 meters (6,880 feet) and an annual handling capacity of 2.8 million TEUs.
