   Remo Eigenmann has been named head of air freight at Damco, the logistics arm of A.P. Moller – Maersk.
   The company said Eigenmann’s initial task would be to advance Damco’s air freight product and create customer value through development of key trade lanes.
   “We want to enhance customers’ experience of air freight and build our capabilities significantly, penetrating into geographies and industry verticals where we have minimal or no air freight presence — but where customers require us to be,” said Eigenmann, a Swiss national who has previously worked for ABB, Swissair and AT Kearney, and Panalpina, where he headed the global air freight organization.
   “We see a great need for our air freight product among our present and potential customers, both as a standalone solution, but also as a key component in individually tailored multimodal setups, complimenting other forwarding and supply chain services,” he added.
