Damietta terminal orders more RTG cranes

Konecranes will deliver four rubber tire gantry cranes to the Branch Damietta Container and Cargo Handling Company terminal in the summer of 2016.

   Konecranes will deliver four rubber tire gantry cranes to Branch Damietta Container and Cargo Handling Company (DCHC) terminal at Port Damietta, Egypt in the summer of 2016.
   The 16-wheel RTG cranes have a lifting capacity of 40 tons, a stacking height of one-over-five and a stacking width of over seven truck lanes wide.
   This delivery marks DCHC’s second RTG crane order from the container handling equipment manufacturer. The terminal operator purchased six RTG cranes from Konecranes in 2009.
   The 600,000-square-meter DCHC terminal at Port Damietta has a capacity of 1.5 million TEUs, according to DCHC’s website.
