Danaos charters ship to Yang Ming

Danaos charters ship to Yang Ming    Danaos Corp. said it has agreed to re-charter the YM Milano, a 3,100-TEU containership to Yang Ming Line. The charter is for 3 years beginning immediately after its current employment starting July 2008 at an improved fixed charter rate. The vessel will trade in the Asia region.
   John Coustas, chief executive officer of Danaos said the company has had a “longstanding relationship” with Yang Ming and that the charter “demonstrates that the charter market and the demand for containerships are still strong.”
   Danaos has a current fleet of 37 containerships with aggregate capacity 151,725 TEUs and has contracted to purchase of 34 additional containerships with 243,468 TEU of capacity that are scheduled for delivery through 2011.
