    Danzas, the forwarding and logistics subsidiary of the Deutsche Post group, is absorbing Deutsche Post Transport GmbH and Deutsche Post Kontrakt Logistik GmbH.
    Deutsche Post Transport, which will be renamed Danzas Transport GmbH, will report to the "eurocargo" business unit at the Danzas head office in Basel.
    By taking over Deutsche Post Transport, Danzas will strengthen its position in the transport business throughout Europe, Danzas said.
Deutsche Post Transport has about 140 employees and sales of DM400 million ($220 million).
    Part of Deutsche Post Kontrakt Logistik GmbH will also be transferred to Danzas. The operations to be transferred include ITG, a company with 850 employees and annual sales of DM160 million ($90 million) mainly in fashion and shoe logistics.
    Deutsche Post Kontrakt Logistik’s business-to-private activities, which focus on mail order companies and e-commerce, will remain within the Deutsche Post parent company.
