Danzas, the forwarding and logistics group owned by Deutsche Post,
is continuing its acquisition binge by taking over the Irish logistics firm Meadowsfreight
from Denmark’s DFDS.
The terms of the purchase were not disclosed.
Headquartered in Dublin, Meadowsfreight employs about 240 people and
has annual revenues of about 50 million Euro ($48 million).
Meadowsfreight
provides air freight, ocean freight, land transport and warehousing services and has hubs
in Dublin, Cork, Shannon and Rosslare.
Meadowsfreight has been working with Danzas for the last 25 years.
Following the acquisition of Nedlloyd’s transport and distribution
business and the purchase of the majority of ASG, the expansion to Ireland enables Danzas
to offer its customers the broadest and densest network in Europe, a spokesman for Danzas
said.
