DANZAS OPENS MORE ‘CLASS A’ FORWARDING BRANCHES IN CHINA

Swiss-based forwarding group Danzas said that it has received approval from China’s Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Cooperation for five additional “class A” licenses to open branches in Beijing, Tianjin, Qingdao, Xiamen and Shenzhen.

Danzas was one of the first non-Chinese forwarders to obtain a “class A” license, in 1998, for its Shanghai branch. A “class A” license in China grants full rights to conduct business as an international forwarder.

With the current integration of Danzas and Air Express International, Danzas AEI Intercontinental operates additional branches in Shenyang, Dalian, Tanggu, Xian, Nanjing and Ningbo, the company said.

Danzas is also active in China through various representative offices.

The Swiss group said that it has annual sales of approximately $80 million and employs 300 people in China.
