The global logistics services company Dachser has established a joint venture operation in Ho Chi Minh City, the company said Monday.
“The Vietnamese market is projected to strengthen, and as Dachser continues to enter new markets our American shippers’ network capabilities will continue to strengthen as well,” said Frank Guenzerodt, president and chief executive officer of Dachser USA.
The opening of a second branch office in Vietnam’s capital Hanoi is planned for the end of the year, he added.
Dachser Vietnam Co. Ltd. will provide air and sea freight handling and customs clearance, among other logistics services, the company said. Michael Deisemann has been appointed country manager and will report to Edoardo Podestá, regional managing director for the Far East, based in Hong Kong.
Dachser currently has Asia branch offices in Bangladesh, China, Hong Kong, India, Malaysia, Singapore, South Korea, Taiwan and Thailand.
