Dascher revenue up 12% in 2008

Dascher revenue up 12% in 2008    German-based global logistics company Dascher said Wednesday it saw a 12 percent increase in revenue in 2008 to 3.6 billion euros.
   The company did not release information on profits. Dascher said it has changed its reporting format this year to one in which all its business units are consolidated into one set of financials.
   “The company is switching over to a group-oriented reporting format adapted to international standards. In the past, the company has tended to favor a non-consolidated segment reporting approach to present its turnover figures,” Dascher said in a statement.
   The logistics provider has been growing its presence in Asia — particularly China — and said revenue from operations in greater China rose 20 percent over 2007. Its Hong Kong-based Asia subsidiary Dascher Far East saw revenue grow to $206 million. Its biggest source of revenue continues to be its core European logistics division, which brought in nearly 64 percent of group revenue.
