DAT onboarding hopes to expedite freight movement

TransCore DAT has announced a new service to help freight brokers and other third-party logistics companies to hire and qualify carriers more quickly and efficiently.
The DAT Carrier Onboarding service will allow companies and freight providers to exchange and store documents online and attach them to specific moves or companies to streamline overall processes and reduce errors.
The digital onboarding replaces the manual process, which many cite as error-prone, as well as the faxing of documents with a digital process that is easier to track and maintain. This will also help 3PLs verify that existing carriers are qualified for the work and their contracts are efficiently managed.
Companies can also use the platform to hire new carriers and verify their capabilities before any freight moves take place.
Carriers can store their documents, capabilities, and other information with the DAT Onboarding system at no charge, to facilitate their hiring by brokers with minimal effort and paperwork.
TransCore DAT said that service can be integrated with a wide range of transportation management systems and its own CarrierWatch.
