DB Schenker formalizes presence in Laos

   Although it has been present in the region since 2001, DB Schenker has now established its own legal entity in Laos, Schenker (Lao) Sole Co.
   According to officials, the change will allow Schenker to offer more services at better rates.
   In conjunction with the new entity, the company has unveiled a 3,000-square-meter facility in Vientiane. From the facility, Schenker will focus on employee development and distribution of goods across the garment, consumer and telecommunications industries.
   “With Laos holding a key geographical position and sharing its borders with some of the most important economies in the region,” Schenker’s Victor Lim said in a statement, “it is imperative that we grow our international trucking services to let our customers have the choice of using the most cost effective mode of transport for their goods.” – Jon Ross
