DB Schenker integrates more client systems

   DB SCHENKERmarineparts, a special air freight service for global parts supply to ships, is now offering a direct integration between a client’s procurement system and MyMPS, DB Schenker’s online inventory management system for parts supply.
   The new service will allow customers’ information to be automatically uploaded into MyMPS on an order-line level when the customer sends a purchase order to a vendor, removing the need to manually enter information and separately track it across multiple systems.
   “We can then send status update messages back into the client’s procurement system,” said Helge Jensen, director of product management of Europe, Middle East, and Africa for DB SCHENKERmarineparts. “This will give the client a much faster and more precise overview and the client as well as we will save time.”
   The company said it will target the service at ship owners, fleet managers, marine parts manufacturers, shipyards, shipbuilders, and MRO (maintenance, repair, and overhaul) service providers.
   The service will be demonstrated at two trade shows next month, SMM in Hamburg and IMPA London, where potential customers can see it live and in action in real-time.
