DB Schenker taps new head of rail automotive

   Jens Nöldner was named chief executive officer of DB Schenker Rail Automotive GmbH, which handles Deutsche Bahn’s rail freight activities for the automotive industry.
   Nöldner, 48, will succeed Axel Marschall, who was appointed to the management board of DB Schenker Rail at the beginning of the year where he is responsible for German and European sales.
   Nöldner, who holds a degree from Dresden University of Transportation, has been at DB Schenker Rail for 20 years, serving as managing director of DB Schenker Rail Automotive GmbH for the past three years. 
   DB Schenker’s automotive rail network includes up to 250 trains that transport components and finished vehicles to and from plants throughout Europe. Trains also run onward to customers in China.
