DCT Gdansk to use Jade’s terminal software

DCT Gdansk to use Jade’s terminal software DCT Gdansk, the company developing a new deepwater container terminal in Poland, has selected New Zealand-based Jade Software Corp.’s JADE Master Terminal software to manage the terminal.
   The new facility is due to open June 1 and will be able to handle a maximum capacity of 500,000 TEUs per annum with a roll-on/roll-off berth capacity of 160,000 TEUs. The second phase of the project would double the terminal capacity to more than one million TEUs per year with further construction possible.
   JADE Master Terminal has been used in a number of port operations in New Zealand since 1994. “We are delighted with DCT Gdansk’s decision to implement JADE Master Terminal and see this decision as a resounding endorsement of its capabilities and emerging presence in the international container terminal market,” said Rod Carr, Jade chief executive.
   The Macquarie Global Infrastructure Fund II, owned by Australia’s Macquarie Bank Group, is the major shareholder and equity investor in DCT Gdansk.
