Delmas’ Tangiers calls increase

   The liner shipping company Delmas has added a call at Tangiers to its ‘Weekly’ Container Service between North Europe and West Africa. All of Delmas’ Mediterranean to Africa services are already calling Tangiers. The ‘Weekly’ Container Service began calling Tangiers with the Dec. 2 sailing of Delmas Brazzaville from Dunkirk. The new port rotation is Dunkirk, Antwerp, Le Havre, Montoir, Tangiers, Dakar, Abidjan, Cotonou, Douala, Abidjan, Dakar, Dunkirk.  
   This service is 42 days round, and operates with six vessels averaging 2,192 TEUs. All six vessels are operating by Delmas, but parent company CMA CGM takes slots on the service. It is interesting that Delmas and CMA CGM are strengthening their presence in Tangiers so soon after Safmarine and Maersk completely withdrew from Tangiers on grounds of poor service. — ComPair Data, Bessie Howard
