Details released on TWIC cards in New York

Details released on TWIC cards in New York Additional information on worker enrollment in the Transportation Workers Identification Credential or TWIC card program in New York has been released.
   Bethann Rooney, manager of port security for the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, said there will be four fixed sites for enrollment in the port:
   ' The New York Container Terminal on Staten Island.
   ' The Whitehall Ferry Terminal (Staten Island Ferry Terminal) in Manhattan.
   ' Sites in Hackensack and Perth Amboy, N.J.
   Mobile facilities may be available to visit companies with more than 50 employees at a single location, as resources permit.
   Enrollment is scheduled to begin on Staten Island in mid-December and in Manhattan and Hackensack in early 2008.
   TWIC cards will be required for unescorted access to the secure areas of all marine terminals and vessels by Sept. 25, 2008.
