Deutsche Post to test electric vehicles    Deutsche Post said it will road test 15 electric-drive Mercedes-Benz delivery vans on postal route for four years beginning this fall in Berlin and Stuttgart.
   The German postal operator said the evaluation of operational capability will help Mercedes-Benz make design changes in advance of mass production.
   The Deutsche Post DHL group has about 2,500 alternative fuel vehicles in its fleet and has set goals for reducing fuel consumption and carbon emissions. Under its GoGreen initiative, the postal-logistics company intends to reduce the carbon dioxide emissions from its operations and those of its subcontractors by 30 percent by 2020.
   Express delivery competitors FedEx and UPS are also experimenting with and using hybrid, electric and other alternative fuel vehicles.
