DHL breaks ground to expand hub facility in Ohio

DHL, a provider of express delivery and logistics services, has begun construction of an expanded air and ground hub in Wilmington, Ohio.

The new facility, to be completed by the fall of 2005, will cost DHL $300 million. It will create 600 new full-time jobs and 300 part-time jobs, in addition to 6,000 employees already based at the hub.

Expansion of the hub, located in the Wilmington Air Park, is the single largest U.S. capital investment thus far undertaken by DHL. When completed, the hub will have 1.2 million square feet of additional sorting space and 36 acres of new aircraft ramp pavement. It will provide direct service to 15 DHL stations in the region.
