DHL, Deutsche Post, Marconi invest in Viewlocity

Great Western adds Shanghai, capacity to Pacific service

''Viewlocity, an Atlanta-based provider of business-to-business integration and online trading services, said Wednesday that DHL, Deutsche Post, Marconi Ventures, SingTel and SK Global, among other investors, had bought $25 million of the company’s preferred stock.

''''”Many of these companies are our customers,” said Greg Cronin, chief executive officer of Viewlocity, who use “Viewlocity solutions to integrate portions of their businesses.”

''''The money will go for sales, marketing, research and development, Leanne Smullen, Viewlocity’s manager of marketing communications, told AS-plus.

''''DHL, an international air express carrier, uses Viewlocity’s integration services “to ensure visibility throughout our trading exchanges,” said DHL’s Colum Joyce.

SingTel intends “to create (an) infrastructure across Asia Pacific for e-marketplaces,” said Chang Wai Leong, SingTel’s director of corporate development.

''''Last month, Viewlocity and Marconi InfoChain announced plans to create a supply chain application service provider through Marconi’s InfoChain business.
