DHL Express adjusts packaging mix

DHL Express adjusts packaging mix    DHL has streamlined and standardized the types of packaging boxes it offers, the global express delivery company said this week.
   The new package sizes will handle shipments ranging from 500g to 25kg and range from envelopes to pallet boxes, triangular tubes and wine boxes. DHL said the new package suite will be available to customers in most countries by the end of the year.
   The new package range includes existing box sizes, as well as new sizes and shapes — all carrying a universal brand logo for the first time. As DHL expanded around the world through acquisitions and joint ventures many local operations continued to use their own package designs.
   All the boxes are made from 100 percent recycled material and have been developed to minimize the amount of raw material used while increasing strength and compression, DHL said.
