DHL: Fashion shippers need agile supply chains

A new report sponsored by DHL encourages fashion shippers to create more sophisticated, dynamic supply chains that can easily shift with consumer demand.
Fashion Unleashed: Supply Chain Innovation found online and mobile retailing “has made volatility and complexity the norm rather than the exception in the fashion sector,” according to a press release.
The report stated that a growing global middle class, the rise of emerging markets and shifting demographics have combined with shortened product life cycles and greater service demands to place new pressures on supply chains.
Levi Strauss & Co, TOM TAILOR, Keen Footwear and other fashion firms took part in the study, which was based on an industry-wide survey and discussions with fashion shippers.
