DHL introduces carbon footprint tool

   DHL Global Forwarding’s freight division has implemented a reporting feature that tracks a company’s carbon footprint automatically. The new feature is included as part of DHL’s track and trace system.
   Customers can find out emissions data related to their shipments on DHL’s site by entering in their shipment information and clicking on the carbon footprint button. The information complies with governmental emissions regulations like the French Decree 2011-1336 and the European Standard EN 16258.
   “More and more customers demand a precise calculation of their individual carbon emissions when shipping goods,” DHL Global Forwarding, Freight, Chief Executive Officer Roger Crook said in a statement. “The European Standard and the new regulation by the French government on the calculation of greenhouse gas emissions for transport services further add to this trend. By implementing the report feature in our already existing tracking tools, we get ahead of competition and offer our customers individual reports that are easy to access.”
