DHL invests $4 million to expand Ohio logistics facility

DHL, a provider of express delivery and logistics services, said it will invest $4 million over the next five years to expand its Columbus Commerce Park facility in Columbus, Ohio.

Commerce Park, which serves as DHL's third-party logistics facility, is located in the Rickenbacker Air Industrial Park outside of Columbus.

As part of its initial expansion phase, DHL has moved into a 190,000-square-foot facility, more than doubling the warehouse space previously available. The Commerce Park facility was designed to support supply chain management services for DHL's customers, and speed access to the company's primary air and ground hub at the DHL Wilmington Air Park.

When completed, the expanded facility will comprise 320,000 square feet of warehousing, and use two management systems to speed inventory and returns.

The expansion is part of a $1.2 billion program announced in 2004 to extend DHL's footprint in the United States.
