DHL launches New York-Colombia LCL service

DHL Global Forwarding launched a weekly less-than-container load service that offers 9-day port-to-port transits from New York to Cartagena, Colombia.    DHL Global Forwarding, the air and ocean freight specialist within Deutsche Post DHL Group, is now offering a direct less-than-container load service from New York to Cartagena, Colombia.
   The weekly service aims to improve transit times from the Northeast and Midwest U.S. regions by bypassing Miami, offering 9-day port-to-port transits from New York to Cartagena. “Cargo cut off days are on Mondays with sailings the same week on Fridays with overall 13-day transit for New York base cargo,” DHL said.
   Colombia is the fourth largest economy in Latin America after Brazil, Mexico and Argentina, and mainly imports transport equipment, chemicals, fuel, food and livestock, making it the ideal entry point for petrochemicals and agricultural commodities, DHL said.
