DHL, MAIL BOXES ETC. TEAM TO PROVIDE INTERNATIONAL SERVICES

   Mail Boxes Etc., the world’s largest franchise operator of shipping
service centers, has reached agreement with DHL Airways Inc., the U.S. arm of DHL Worldwide Express, to offer international air express services at MBE’s more than 3,300 retail outlets.
   The independently owned and operated Mail Boxes Etc. franchises will be able to offer shippers a variety of DHL products and services.
   The deal gives DHL greater access to small-package shippers in the
United States and gives MBE international reach in its plan to expand as an e-commerce fulfillment company.
   MBE, a subsidiary of U.S. Office Products Co., signed a deal with
internet auction house eBay earlier this year. DHL is expected to leverage MBE’s relationships to broaden its scope and presence, as it has done in developing foreign markets.
