DHL offers Shanghai/Tokyo LCL service    DHL said it has significantly enhanced its intra-Asia services with a new direct less-than-containerload service between Shanghai and Tokyo.
   The express carrier noted the new service offers a number of advantages over existing shipment options. Currently, shipments need to be rehandled in Hong Kong, with shipment time from five to seven days. Direct shipment between Shanghai and Tokyo will reduce the transit time to four days.
   'This service is ideal for firms that rely on timely distribution as part of a secure supply chain,' said Steve Huang, chief executive officer for DHL Global Forwarding in China. 'In particular, we expect the Chinese automotive and fashion industries to be attracted by this direct service to Tokyo to enhance the time-to-market of their products.'
