DHL signs deal with Chinese think tank

DHL signs deal with Chinese think tank    DHL said Thursday it has signed a cooperative agreement with Chinese think tank China Development Institute.
   The agreement calls on CDI to provide strategic knowledge and resources for the two parties to jointly develop products in urban logistics, sustainable supply chain, auto ID application, and supply chain optimization.
   'Since both partners share the vision to improve the logistics infrastructure in China, the partnership will open up many opportunities and serve as a catalyst for the development of innovative logistics solutions in China,' said Petra Kiwitt, head of DHL Solutions & Innovations (DSI), which is responsible for all research projects and innovations in the global Deutsche Post DHL network.
   Meanwhile, DHL also said it has appointed Byung-Koo Han as new country manager of DHL Express Korea.
   Han takes over from Chris Callen, who has moved to a new role as the head of human resources for Asia-Pacific, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Africa, based in Singapore.
   Han joined DHL Express Korea in March 2008 as chief financial officer.
