DHL Global Forwarding said it is widening its focus to include the logistics of marine spare parts.
The company has opened an office, what it calls the “global marine spare parts logistics control tower,” in Singapore and said it is “well positioned to capitalize on the $1 billion shipping spare parts logistics industry which handles over 3 million shipments each year.”
DHL said it planned to invest $15 million over the next five years to enhance its services to meet future customer requirements in this segment.
