DHL, U.S. labor union agree on job protection

Express delivery company DHL has agreed not to lay off Teamster workers and guarantee minimum hours and weekend pay rates, the union said.

DHL took on the labor contract of some 6,000 workers when it acquired Airborne Express’ ground unit last year. The International Brotherhood of Teamsters also separately represents about 3,000 other DHL workers.
