DHL unveils new cryogenic shipping option

   DHL has beefed up its cryogenic-shipping options, adding a new service through LifeConEx targeting shippers in the healthcare and life sciences industries.
   The new service uses liquid nitrogen dry vapor to hold cargo at -150 degrees Celsius for ten days. This is a more reliable and environmentally friendly alternative to extra-cold shipping methods, DHL officials said. Online temperature-monitoring capabilities are provided with the service.
   “By introducing this latest solution in collaboration with Cryoport, we are further strengthening our dedication to the life sciences and healthcare industry. It is specifically designed for customers who require that cryogenic temperature be reliably maintained during storage and transportation of their materials. It also relieves them from more precarious shipping methods such as dry ice or use of hazardous liquid nitrogen,” LifeConEx’s chief executive officer, David Bang, said in a statement.
