Sacramento’s airport and river port had previously been under the jurisdiction of U.S. Customs and Border Protection’s San Francisco office, which also includes Oakland. CBP said the establishment of a port of entry in Sacramento was made “to more efficiently utilize its personnel, facilities, and resources to provide better service to carriers, importers, and the general public.”
