DHS launches broad anti-terror exercise    Many components of the Department of Homeland Security on Monday are starting a five-day national exercise on terrorism prevention in conjunction with federal, state, international and private sector partners.
   The scenario they are operating under involves preventing a terrorist from entering the United States to carry out additional attacks in the wake of a terrorist attack outside the country.
   The department said the first-of-its kind exercise would enable it to test its capabilities and refine its anti-terror strategies.
   The exercise, mandated by Congress and coordinated by the Federal Emergency Management Agency, promotes information and intelligence sharing among all participants. They will have to prioritize intelligence and law enforcement activities that detect, disrupt and deter an incident.
   The departments of Justice, Defense and State, as well as the Office of the Director of National Intelligence, are also participating in the exercise.
