The Greek ship owner, whose shares are listed on the New York Stock Exchange, said it will pay $140 million for a 2005-built bulker that has a capacity of 171,810 deadweight tons. The ship is under a charter for 59 to 61 months, for a rate of $55,800 per day.
The company will pay $135 million for the second ship, a 2002-built bulker that has a capacity of 164,218 deadweight tons. The charter extends also extends for 59 to 61 months at a rate of $74,450 per day.
